For the second time in a year PHX Swimming wins NE 15-18 Champs! PHX Swimmers did not disappoint in their quest to win back to back NE 15-18 Champs this summer! What a weekend! For the first time in our short (3.5 years) but decorated history Phoenix Swimming managed to finsih first at 13-19 Champs by over 500+ points! Congratulations to Phoenix Swimmers who finished 2nd at this weekends 12 and Under Championships in White River Junction Vermont! There were so many amazing swims, broken team records, and amazing relays. Overall swimmers achieved close to 90% best times and numerous team records. It was particularly nice to see the team compete together at their first Age Group Championship meet and not only show great sportsmanship but also a winning and competitive attitude. Congratulations to Phoenix Swimmer Brian Poon who was recently selected for USA Swimming National Select Camp. Attendees to National Select Camp have either obtained a top 2 times in the country for an individual event (men 16 and under, women 15 and under) or own a top 4 IMX score for the past LC season. Congratulations to Phoenix Swimmers Isaac Walker and Sophia Walker on being named Scholastic All American's for the past year. In order to be named a Scholastic All American swimmers must achieve at least a 3.5 GPA as well as a qualifying time set by USA Swimming. This was Sophia's second consecutive time named to the team - and is now currently a Freshman at Bowdoin College and this was Isaac's first time named to the All American Team. Congratulations to Joe Turk who has become the second PHX swimmer in as many years to be chosen to attend the Eastern Zone Select Camp. The Camp is held at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and is comprised of the best 28 males and females from the Eastern Zone.
